I was driving along Darkes Lane today when I stopped at the traffic lights outside Woolworths. Waiting the other side of the traffic lights (going the other direction to me) was a kid on one of those scooters. Instead of driving off normally he did a wheelie. It was so dangerous, and what on earth is the point?

Its not as if they were showing off to anyone, because nobody else was there for them to show off too!

Can anyone tell me why they do this, when they could easily injure or kill themselves or someone else. Sad
were you ever young?
Yes - but thats no excuse.
I thought you wanted to know "why". There's your reason - before old and boreing there is young and stupid.

Were you never young and do silly things? I know I did!

Live and let live.

If they're doing a wheelie and fall off they will only hurt themselves Tongue

Or will they, what if they run into somebody, like a child crossing the road, or an elderly person on the pavement. I expect I did some "silly" things when I was younger but I didn't have the sort of machinery like a motorbike when I put others in danger. If they had a serious accident the road could be closed, which would cause disruptions. Finally, they give a bad name to all teenagers and people riding these wheelies, they ofter wear little or no protection.

As far as I am concerned they can go and injure themselves as much as they want on these things - but I don't want to be hurt nor anyone else.

Besides, where do these 16 year olds get the money to buy these things - most of them have just left school (many are on exam leave and should be studying). It must be the parents fault.
