Noticed today when I drove along Mutton Lane that the Strafford Arms is closed and fenced off, anyone know what's going on? Can't find any planning applications open for it and google doesn't know anything either.

It looked as if it was being redecorated? I think the shops would suffer if it closed?

The sign on the barriers says it's going to be a "Barras" pub (I think!). Was it part of that chain before (which is in turn owned by Scottish & Newcastle). It's supposed to be part of S&N's "community pub brand".
