Spotted in the council leaflet - see
this page which lists the food businesses that have been inspected and the star rating given.
Some surprises in there for me, though a couple are a year or so out of date and I'd hope have improved!!
Hertsmere Borough Council have changed the address.
It is now here. Hertsmere's only two 5 star establishments are both in Potters Bar!!
I've asked them if they will be putting up more detail in future. The score is great but I'd like to know how they score it. A 2 for a place serving just coffee may be the most they can expect to score, but a 2 for a big restaurant really isn't very good.
Some of the places were rated in 2006, is that fair to publish given a lot could have changed. I would also like to see what they plan to do for those premises getting zeros.
Some of my regular restaurants are zero rated and you'd never really guess it from the quality of the food or public areas. Without knowing the detail scores you'd be hard pressed to make use of the information.
The same page for the London Boroughs which is
here breaks the scores down into Hygiene/Safety, Structure/Facilites, Confidence in Management. It also allows the restaurant to respond to the score.
This link shows the scheme in general. Personally I would insist the store should display the rating, good or bad on the front door.
Quite surprised by some of the results (and thanks for the links).
There is one place in Potters Bar where I would rather starve than eat. The Kitchens are (very) dirty and I know for a fact that the current management allow their dog to freely enter the kitchen without any sort of supervision.
I won't say what they scored but suffice to say it's in the top half.
