Tesco have admitted the Potters Bar store was supplied with contaminated fuel and we now know recent cars with catalytic converters are affected by the fuel mixture supplied.
I filled up on 26th Feb then went on holiday for two weeks and only then saw the news of the fuel contamination. I got back and the car does seem fine but I just wondered if anyone here has been affected or knows anyone who has been affected. The help from Tesco has been a bit lukewarm - I have to take the car to a garage who will sample the fuel and send it away. If the fuel isn't contaminated, they will pay for the test, and if it is, they will pay for the test, fuel and any parts damaged by the faulty fuel.
I expected a little more - perhaps a tie-up with a recovery organisation to sample the fuel at your convenience. But still, seeing as everything seems to have died down, I wonder if the actual impact was less than the news made out initially.
