Quote:Herts County Council are planning to reduce the PB1 service from the existing 20 minute service between 7am to 8pm, to a half hourly service between 10am and 3.30pm

I think this is bad news, especially to the older people who rely on Public Transport to get around. How do you feel about this?
The buses are as it is frequently not on time and sometimes the late evening buses do not show up at all !!!

I know a few elderly people who use this service in the morning and in the evenings. And I feel some of them might have problems walking long distances without the PB1 service in the mornings and evenings.

Unsure

An half hourly service all through the day may be an answer if the council thinks this is becoming uneconomical.
When will the new timetable start on PB1?
Quite a few elderly/disabled people use the PB1 to get to their GPs. Will they be able to make appointments to fit in with this new timetable? Also, we are quite cut-off in the Oakmere area now that our one and only local shop has closed down in Wayside.
Quote:PB1 Bus - Major Correction?
It appears talk of a very much reduced PB1 service is misplaced due to a misunderstanding. The notes of the Bus Network Review - South-West Herts states "To contain future cost increases it is proposed to operate with only one bus between 10.00 and 15.30 Mondays to Fridays and all day Saturdays. This means a service reduction from 20 to 30 minutes."
This was interpretated to mean that these would be the only hours during which the service would operate, rather than the existing 7am to 8pm service. It is now realised that the existing 20 minute peak hours service will remain. Any false alarm is deeply regretted.
