The new company is First Capital Connect, <a href='http://www.firstcapitalconnect.co.uk' target='_blank'>http://www.firstcapitalconnect.co.uk</a>

It's a shame in a way as no doubt a lot of money will be spent initially on the rebranding process. WAGN have only just finished refurbing a lot of trains in their colours and repainting stations too. They've not even started on the corporate stamp for Potters Bar, seems like a waste of time now. I guess all the uniforms and stuff will change also.

Noticed tonight that the monitors on the platforms have today taken on a WAGN branding also, talk about leaving it a bit late Wink
I guess this is also a shame since they seem to have improved reliability and punctuality as the discount is now down to 1% and then only for annual tickets.

But I can't help thinking some of this is down to adding slack time to the terminus arrival time, giving them a few minutes before they go into penalty. It seems the north and south tracks take different routes near the ends of the line, as it takes between 7-9 minutes to go into Kings Cross but only 5 coming out. Same is true at WGC where it takes 5 minutes to get in but only 3 to get out Wink

As the WAGN staff will <a href='http://www.firstcapitalconnect.co.uk/our_people.php' target='_blank'>TUPE</a> across to First Group not much will change apart from shareholders...

Sometimes I think we lose out to Peterborough and Cambridge services. Be good to have fast services from Finsbury Park as we had when I first started commuting, although the timetable change that brought this in gave more trains per hour, so you can't have it all, I'm sure it's not possible to please everyone Wink
